Ilmenite
FeTiO₃The base-load feedstock for titanium dioxide pigment.
Ilmenite is an iron-titanium oxide mineral and the world's primary feedstock for titanium dioxide production. It occurs as a dense, black to brownish-black heavy mineral in beach and inland sand deposits, typically recovered alongside rutile, zircon and sillimanite.
Natural ilmenite runs 44–53% TiO₂; upgraded (beneficiated) grades reach 54–60%+ for buyers running the sulfate pigment process or synthetic rutile plants. We supply against the grade a buyer's process actually needs.
