Calcined petroleum coke is green pet coke heat-treated at 1,200–1,350°C to drive off moisture and volatiles, sharply raising fixed carbon and electrical conductivity. That conductivity is the whole point: CPC is the anode-grade carbon aluminium smelters and graphite electrode plants build their process around.
Supplied to the fixed-carbon, low-ash, low-sulphur specification anode and electrode manufacturers require for that process.
