LAM Coke
Low-ash metallurgical coke for sponge iron and mini blast furnaces.
LAM (Low Ash Metallurgical) coke is metallurgical coke produced or screened to a reduced ash content, which matters directly to furnace efficiency. Every percentage point of ash is a percentage point of dead weight the furnace has to melt and slag off.
It's the standard charge material for sponge iron (DRI) kilns and mini blast furnaces, where ash and sizing consistency affect yield more than in a large integrated blast furnace.
